As an outdoor enthusiast, I’ve experienced the joys of hiking, camping, and exploring remote wilderness areas. However, one challenge many women face is how to comfortably and conveniently answer nature’s call. That’s why I designed a wilderness pee kit tailored for women who love adventure, inspired by practical solutions and Leave No Trace principles.
The Inspiration Behind the Wilderness Pee Kit
The idea for my pee kits came to light after a friend introduced me to the PStyle—a stand-to-pee device that’s truly a game-changer. Unlike other options like the Go Girl or She Wee, the PStyle is designed not to overfill, making it much easier and cleaner to use. Around the same time, I discovered the Kula Cloth, an innovative alternative to toilet paper. Infused with silver to make it antimicrobial, the Kula Cloth is a sustainable and hygienic solution for outdoor women.
Combining these two essentials with my own artistic flair, I created pee kits that include:
• An eco-friendly PStyle
• An artist-designed Kula Cloth
• Hand sanitizer for cleanliness
• An artist-designed bag to keep everything organized
Convenience Meets Adventure
These kits are designed with convenience in mind, making them ideal for a variety of outdoor activities. Whether you’re:
• Hiking your favorite trails
• Backpacking through the Tetons
• Camping under the stars
• Mountain biking on rugged paths
• Kayaking on a tranquil lake
The kit keeps everything you need in one compact place, so you’re always prepared, no matter the terrain. I like to keep mine in the outside pocket of my bag for when nature urgently calls.
Embracing Leave No Trace Principles
A big part of why I created these kits was to help women adventure responsibly. Following Leave No Trace principles is essential for protecting our wilderness areas, and the Kula Cloth is a key player in this mission. By eliminating the need to bring toilet paper for peeing, you reduce waste and avoid leaving anything behind in nature.
The antimicrobial properties of the Kula Cloth ensure it stays hygienic between washes, and its compact size makes it easy to clip to your pack or store discreetly. You can use a Kula Cloth multiple times within the same day. If you are going on a multi-day trip, it is easy to wash with water and a drop of soap, then hang to dry overnight. With a pee kit, you can embrace nature while minimizing your impact.
Sidenote: What About Number Two?
While my wilderness pee kits are designed specifically for peeing, it’s important to know how to handle other needs responsibly when adventuring in nature. If you find yourself needing to poop, follow Leave No Trace principles by digging a “cathole”—a hole about 6-8 inches deep and at least 200 feet away from water sources, trails, and campsites. After doing your business, cover the hole completely with soil to minimize impact. If you prefer not to leave waste behind, consider packing a portable toilet system or waste bags specifically designed for hiking and camping. Always remember to pack out any used toilet paper in a sealable bag to keep the wilderness clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Why You Need a Women’s Wilderness Pee Kit
Every adventurous woman knows the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. My wilderness pee kits are more than just practical—they’re empowering. They give you the confidence to explore the great outdoors without worry, all while staying true to sustainable practices.
So, whether you’re tackling a new trail, camping with friends, or setting off on a solo adventure, my pee kits are here to make answering nature’s call a seamless part of your journey.
Let’s continue to embrace our wild, adventurous sides while leaving the wilderness just as beautiful as we found it.
